Industrial Music Genres There are almost too many musical labels to keep track of. Even the meaning of individual labels falls under arguement. Industrial - Originally a harsh branch of experimental branch of music using synths, samples, and found sounds but now usually refered to aggro synth music. Gothic - A splinter faction of punk rock thrown in with some other previously unclassified bands that cling to a morose aesthetic of emotion, death, and Halloween decorations. Deathrock - Gothic music that has gone back to it's punk roots. Electro - Music using raw electonic sounds and synths. Coldwave - Industrial music with real guitars. Darkwave - Goth music using synths or industrial music with gothic aesthetics depending on how you look at it. Futurepop - Industrial synthpop Synthpop - Popmusic using synths and other electronics instead of normal rock instruments, usually meant for clubs and dancing. Powernoise ( aka Rythmic Noise) - Industrial music without the lyrics or samples Apocalyptic - Sometimes called dark folk, but generally a collection of weirdos that don't fit into either gothic or industrial but still have their traits. |
